We both love gardening. David usually gets lumped with the heavy-duty jobs, while Sandi, with her extensive knowledge of herbs and flowers, loves to do the creative planning and planting.

We maintain a large compost heap from kitchen and garden waste, which goes into enriching the soil. We also have an earthworm farm to assist with this process.

As we are both very concerned about the environment, we aim to keep our garden as ecologically balanced as possible, by avoiding the use of poisonous chemicals in the garden, relying instead on natural aids like essential oil concoctions.

We are very water-conscious, as South Africa is sensitive to droughts. We therefore have an active water recycling system that re-uses household “grey water”. We also understand the need for mindful conservation of nature.
